Anxiety:

Anxiety, by its very nature, is worrying about what was or what will be. We live in a culture that perpetuates anxious thoughts and subsequently influences our perceptions, feelings, and behaviors. Like harried tourists, we rush around taking pictures of everything and seeing nothing. Anxiety makes our lives feel rushed and urgent. Much like the invasive plant bamboo, anxiety can propagate out of control without containment.

While a certain level of anxiety is a given of human existence, excessive amounts can deplete the self and hinder overall wellness. Bringing insight and awareness into what fuels anxiety as well as attempting to understand the addictive power of our need to be BUSY, you will be better equipped to make healthy, conscious choices. With helpful tools and mindful strategies learned in therapy, people can learn to contain their anxiety in order to live a fulfilling life.

Mindful presence is the antithesis of anxiety.
